THAT the Special Committee of the Whole agenda for March 30, 2023 be approved as presented.

WHEREAS the Huronia Airport Commission has requested approval to sell up to 61.4 acres of the airports east field airport lands for the purpose of supporting the airports capital needs; and WHEREAS item 13 of the Huronia Airport agreement dated October 30, 2000 provides the ability of the Huronia Airport Commission to sell airport lands subject to the approval of the participating municipalities; and WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Penetanguishene is a participating municipality within the Huronia Airport agreement dated October 30, 2000; and WHEREAS the sale of airport lands for the purpose of supporting the airports capital needs will help reduce the financial impact on the ratepayers of Corporation of the Town of Penetanguishene relating to the operation of the airport; THEREFORE be it resolved that the Corporation of the Town of Penetanguishene hereby grants the Huronia Airport Commission the authority to sell up to 61.4 acres of the airports east field airport lands for the purpose of supporting the airports capital needs.

THAT the Town of Penetanguishene permit the Ganaraska Hiking Trail Association to blaze a trail through Penetanguishene to complete the Ganaraska Hiking Trail Loop; AND THAT staff be directed to work with the Association to finalize the route and wayfinding signage; AND FINALLY THAT any necessary agreements or by-laws be brought forward to Council for final approval.

THAT the draft agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Penetanguishene and Argee Boat Cruises Limited be approved as outlined in attachment 1; AND THAT the C.A.O. and Director of Recreation and Community Services are hereby authorized to make minor alterations to the agreement that does not substantially change its content; AND FINALLY THAT the Clerk bring forward the necessary By-Law for Council approval.

Desroches be appointed to represent the Town of Penetanguishene on the Culture Alliance; AND THAT the insurance policy for the Friends groups be expanded to include The Friends of the Penetanguishene Sports Hall of Fame; AND FURTHER THAT the Town’s Insurance Reserve be used to fund the additional 2023 policy expense in the amount of $1,500.
